Writing Challenge: Running From the Law

Here’s a staple that every adventure writer needs in their bag of tools; a scene where a character is being pursued – by the cops, or the mob, or aliens, or someone – and has to avoid detection and sneak out of town.

It doesn’t really matter what era or genre you’re writing in. The character might burrow into a hay wagon to avoid the King’s Guard. Or don a disguise and board a train, using fake papers to slip past the Nazis. Or float down the river on a raft in the dead of night, past a fort full of Red Coats. Or even crash through the x-ray scanners hoping to hide in the confusion and board the next rocket to Mars.

Whatever scenario, today’s writing challenge is to write a scene in which the protagonist gives the bad guys the slip.

I look forward to seeing what you write!
