    With a crack like someone had just pulled the trigger on a 30-06 rifle, an arc of blinding light escaped from the ailing washer and headed for a nearby set of pipes. Freaked out, my lips began forming a poorly thought-out expletive as I jerked my head back. But, words failed as my skull was suddenly introduced to a 10×10 wood beam that propped up the 100 year old house, sending me sprawling to the floor.

    Ten minutes later, I woke up with a beautiful blue-eyed first-responr leaning over me in a most provocative manner. It was love at first sight.
